I have a stable app developed on ASP.NET 1.1 that I'm porting to 2.0.
However, I've noticed that on one page, if I click a button to perform some
business logic (which runs fine), then click on a hyperlink to move to a
different page, I get a 'System.ExecutionEngineException' exception. There
is no line highlighted in the debugger.
I'm not using interop or other threads.
Event viewer shows:

I also sometimes see:
aspnet_wp.exe (PID: 2324) stopped unexpectedly.
It fails predictably on the dev web server in VS2005, less regularly on IIS
(although it does still fail).
I've tried to create a simplified program to reproduce the problem - so far
without success. However I did notice that the problem was worsened by some
code returning an array (15-20) of small Dictionary<> objects. I added a
conversion routine to turn them into arrays of structs, and some of the
problems went away. Is this something to do with memory-shortage' My PC has
800mb, with around 80mb free when running the code.
Whats going on? Is this a bug in .NET2, or is there something stupid in my
code? Advice would be welcome!!

Microsoft report the problems stems back to a Dictionary<decimal,double>
instance.
Looks like the CLR can't cope with this for some reason. Be afraid....

System.IndexOutOfRangeException: There is no row at position 0
I'm getting a frustrating error that I can't seem to figure out with an update button. However, when I try to execute the Submit_Click sub I get the error that is the subject of this post. Can you see anything wrong with my code? The GetRecord sub work great on page_load to get the record in the first place, but in re-calling it it's not working.

system.IO.File.Exists doesnt working for file that is outside my virtual directory

Are you using an absolute path or a relative path to the file?
followin is the error i am getting
i have file browser control to select any file and a button to upload
file on my web page now when i select any file. now on click of upload
button i have check that file exist or no
if system.IO.File.Exist(file path) then
...
end if
now when ever i choose file system.IO.File.Exist(file path) return
false, but if i select file from my virtual directory then only it
return true.
so how to select file from any folder on my PC and chech that it exist
or notIt may have to do with the ASP.net user in IIS not having read
permissions on the directories?

In that case I agree with Marina.
You need to recreate your table upon each postback.
Right now you aren't doing that, so you can't add a row to a table that
doesn't exist, thus your error.
Remove the If statement in Page_Load.

In that case I agree with Marina.
You need to recreate your table upon each postback.
Right now you aren't doing that, so you can't add a row to a table that
doesn't exist, thus your error.
Remove the If statement in Page_Load.

System.NullReferenceException:
i have a radiobuttonlist. I want to check to see if a button has been
selected then get the value.. This was my code;

If nothing is selected, I get the following error..
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance
of an object.
thank in advance..Yes, if no item is selected then you get the error. Wouldn't you expect to
get it if you are checking the Value property of SelectedItem, but
SelectedItem is null?
What is your question exactly?

I needed to check if there was a value or not, so I wouldn't get an
error when I posted the value..
I figured it out though.. i needed to to Gender.SelectedValue.. I am
kinda new to this, so I am still learning.. Thanks for your response..

"unselected" radiobuttonlist.
Are you trying to update a database or just trying to display what the user
has selected?
Also, i'd be interested to know if you have found a way to update a
database (even if it's a null value) if no items in a radiobuttonlist have
been selected.
